Let’s Move! Memphis
It’s time to get moving, Memphis.
Memphis is one of 300 cities participating in Let’s Move!, First Lady Michelle Obama’s initiative to combat childhood obesity. As part of the city’s commitment to encourage physical activity among its residents, Mayor A C Wharton, Jr., will announce the first two of 25 SAFE Zones Wednesday, May 25th, at Hickory Hill Park.
The SAFE Zones will afford all Memphians to the chance to exercise outside in their own neighborhoods.
The City of Memphis will host a Let’s Move! launch and celebration at both Frayser Park, 2907 North Watkins Street, and Hickory Hill Park, 3910 Ridgeway Road, Wednesday, May 25th, from 5 – 7:30 p.m. Representatives from the city, as well as the Memphis Grizzlies and the University of Memphis Men’s Basketball Team, will be in attendance.
