Car Due for Inspection? Try the New Appling Road Station.

March 7, 2011

With the commercial vehicle inspection season just beginning –that time of year when all commercial vehicles have to be re-inspected — the City of Memphis hopes to make the vehicle inspection process as short and efficient as it can be.

To that end, the City of Memphis would like to encourage citizens to use the new Appling Road inspectin station at 2355 Appling City Cove.

The new Appling Road station, which opened last November, has 6 inspection lanes, including two commercial lanes.

Citizens can get vehicles inspected 90 days prior to their tag’s expiration date, allowing them to take advantage of shorter wait times or get their vehicle inspected when it is more convenient for them.

Inspection station lines can be viewed via webcam at www.mvib.org.

The City of Memphis would also like to remind citizens that vehicle models from years 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011 are currently exempt from vehicle inspections.
