Reforms Coming To General Services.

July 5, 2010

A recent audit by Thompson & Dunvant identified 68 specific deficiencies and areas in need of immediate correction in our General Services Division, which includes our fleet services, real estate, City Hall maintenance, and other key departments and offices of city government.  On July 2, I appointed Rick Masson to lead an investigation and thorough overhaul of this division.  Becky Kissinger, who has been leading General Services on an interim basis since last fall, will continue to do so, and Michael Sadler will take control of our fleet services department.

I expect a report from Mr. Masson within 90 days detailing the finds of his investigation, and for wholesale reforms and changes to be enacted within 6 months.
