Upcoming Changes to City Dog Park

First things first, when the new skatepark is built at Tobey Park, there *will* be a water fountain accessible to both people and pets.

Because of construction to the new skate park, the City of Memphis’ dog park will be reconfigured starting March 14th.

Small dogs will have a new space just south of the existing large dog park. That space also provides additional parking for dog park users.

The large dog area will be moved to the existing small dog space to allow the city to reseed what is currently the large dog area.

New trees will also be planted as part of Arbor Day.

Construction on the skate park will begin in May 2011.

Both projects are part of the City of Memphis’ commitment to making the city more livable and ensuring citizens are healthier and happier.
